A women-owned urban winery is preparing to uncork a new chapter this winter with a relocation bringing fresh energy to its next pour.

Elsom Cellars, owned by Jody Elsom, is relocating to 18521 76th Ave., Suite 104, in Edmonds, according to business filings.

“What I’m most excited about is what these new chapters allow us to do better: create a more intimate, neighborhood-driven space in North Edmonds / Perrinville, and continue making thoughtful Washington wines in Woodinville with the same care and intention you’ve always known from us,” Elsom said in a newsletter.

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board recently approved Elsom Cellars for a liquor license.

The winery and tasting room launched in 2006. Elsom Cellars specializes in small-lot, artisanal wines made from handpicked grapes sourced from vineyards across Eastern Washington, the website reads.

After harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery for crushing, followed by fermentation, pressing, barreling and aging. The wine is then bottled, labeled and moved to a temperature-controlled warehouse, where some bottles rest to settle while others are ready to drink sooner.

The process ends where it began for guests: in the tasting room.

Elsom’s signature wines include a 2024 Albariño, fermented in neutral stainless steel and aged on the lees; a 2022 Grenache, barrel-aged for 25 months with 20% new French oak; and a 2023 rosé made with 88% Cinsault and 12% Grenache.

Beyond its wine, Elsom emphasizes community building and support for local charitable organizations. The winery also hosts events, including a monthly book club, and offers a wine subscription club.

“We’re building this space with gathering in mind. Not just for wine, but for conversation, connection, and community,” the winery shared via Instagram.

Elsom aims to reopen its Edmonds space in the first quarter as it works through final approvals. For updates, visit the Elsom Cellars website or follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
