A popular Tacoma restaurant is moving into a larger space downtown as part of an upcoming expansion.

Wooden City plans to relocate in 2026 to a newly renovated, 6,500-square-foot space at 1102 Broadway—nearly triple the size of its current home.

The new location, at the base of an office building, will feature high ceilings, exposed steel beams, a mezzanine for private events and an open kitchen centered around its signature wood-fired pizza oven, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Owners Jon Green, Abe Fox and Eddie Gulberg don’t plan to shutter the original restaurant at 714 Pacific Ave. Instead, they are developing a new concept for the existing space, according to a Facebook post.

Details of the project have not been announced, and the owners have not responded to a request for comment from What Now Seattle.

Wooden City’s menu includes wood-fired pizzas, shareable small plates, burgers and a chicken sandwich. Entrées range from spicy lamb rigatoni and beef ravioli to seared scallops, chicken schnitzel and surf and turf. Popular sides include jerk cauliflower, crispy artichokes, wood-fired corn and french fries.

The drink list features wine, draft beer and a selection of specialty cocktails with playful names like Happy Days, Watermelon Sundae, Bramble and Oaxacan.

It’s unclear whether the new location will follow the same hours, but the current restaurant operates seven days a week: 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Happy hour runs daily from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with the kitchen closing at 9:30 p.m.
