A new Italian restaurant is preparing to open its doors in Osprey this summer. Called Mangio Italiano (meaning I eat Italian), this new concept is opening at 153 N Tamiami Trail, on the southeast corner of the intersection with Webb Street, according to plan review paperwork submitted by Mangio Italiano LLC.

What Now contacted co-owner Omar Siddiqui on Wednesday to ask about the details of Mangio Italiano’s opening plans (and its menu!).

“It should be about two months,” said Siddiqui. “We don’t have an exact date yet; we’re still waiting on permitting.”

Siddiqui said it’s too soon to share any more details about the concept or its menu, but What Now awaiting an update as the opening gets closer.

Opening in its North Tamiami Trail location, Mangio Italiano will be situated north of restaurants like Local Pizza and Mad Moe’s Sports Pub & Grill. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
