With more than 300 locations, Insomnia Cookies is continuing to satisfy late-night sweet-teeth (or is it sweet-tooths?) all over the country. The cookie brand was founded in 2003 by Seth Berkowitz in his University of Pennsylvania dorm room, and now Insomnia’s ongoing growth push appears to be bringing it to Sarasota.

This week, What Now came across plan review paperwork showing the new Insomnia Cookies opening at 2266 Gulf Drive.

As it happens, Sarasota local-insider page Restaurants In Sarasota broke this news yesterday. The Restaurant in Sarasota Facebook post says the location was formerly occupied by a sewing shop.

The Insomnia Cookies menu has featured “Classic Cookies” varieties like Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, Sugar, and Oatmeal Raisin. Then there are “Deluxe Cookies,” including Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Deluxe, Salted Caramel Deluxe, and Triple Chocolate Deluxe.

To top it off, there’s brownies, ice cream, and—even more indulgent—Wiches: cookies with ice cream sandwiched between them.
