After an unfortunate flood forced the closure of its location on Hillview Street, A Sprig of Thyme is preparing to open in a new Downtown Sarasota home, says a recent post by Restaurants In Sarasota.

The restaurant’s website gives the address 1534 State Street, the former home of Rise Up Cafe. With the reopening, we can expect some updates to the menu, but you’ll still be able to order the favorites.

“We’re updating the menu slightly,” Jessica Rueda, who owns the restaurant alongside Luigi Cirellli, told What Now on Tuesday. “It will still be Mediterranean: French, Spanish, Greek, Italian. We’re going to keep the classic, the lamb, the duck. But now that it’s summer time, we’ll have a few more salads.”

The new space features a large bar where there will be beer on tap, along with a selection of wines, plus seating both indoors and outdoors.

Opening on State Street, the new location joins a culinary community that includes restaurants like Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse and Brick’s Smoked Meats.
