BABB Hospitality, the group behind Chuck Lager America’s Tavern and St. Pete’s Taverna Costale, is preparing to launch a new restaurant concept in Tampa. Amendment XXI by Fabio Viviani, a Prohibition-themed restaurant and bar, will open with “Refined Bites and Booze” at 204 Westshore Plaza.

“It’s going to be Old World meets modern,” BABB Hospitality co-founder and owner Anthony Sandstrom told What Now on Wednesday. “There will be a great craft cocktail program and a great food selection from appetizers and shareables to excellent cuts of steak.”

Chef Fabio Viviani is the prolific Florence-born chef behind Los Angeles concepts like Café Firenze, Firenze Osteria, and Mercato by Fabio Viviani, and Chicago restaurants like Siena Tavern and Bar Siena. He has worked in partnership with BABB Hospitality on several concepts.

“Our partnership with Chef Fabio Viviani has been very successful over the past few years,” said Sandstrom.

The Amendment XXI website’s About Us page paints the following picture:

Imagine the joy you will experience as you slip into a cocktail, a forbidden indulgence that only AMENDMENT XXI is able to provide. Homemade pastas, dry-aged steaks and hand selected wines are a recognition of the freedoms you enjoy, and the appreciation that you made the best decision all week by walking through the door.
