Sarasota’s first craft brewery, Big Top Brewing Co., offers a selection of locally made craft beers at two locations, in Sarasota and in Lakewood Ranch. After finding success in these two locations, the brewer is preparing to expand with a third, also in Sarasota, at 3045 Fruitville Commons Road.

“When we started Big Top Brewing Company, there were no craft breweries in the Sarasota area and we set out to fix that,” reads the Big Top Brewing Co. website. “We wanted to compliment Sarasota’s historical associations with The Ringling Circus, performing arts, great architecture, the best art and design schools and world-[renowned] tourism.”

The brand’s core beers include the Hazy Sky Wire NEIPA, the Citrus City IPA, the Conch Republic Key Lime Wheat Ale, and the Intercoastal Amber Ale. There is also a slate of seasonal beers, including the Spring Kolsch, the Lemon Shandy, and the Winter Red Ale.

“Come step under our big top and see for yourself,” the website continues. “Big Top Brewing Company artistically crafts world class beers, inspired by our passion, integrity, and the history of our home town.”

What Now reached out to co-owner Mike Bisaha on Friday regarding plans for the third location’s opening. Bisaha was not immediately available for comment.
