Located at 1000 Circus Boulevard in Sarasota, Bobby Jones Golf Club is currently closed for construction but is working toward a reopening. The historic golf club was founded in 1927 by Sarasota golf legend Bobby Jones.
“In January 2022, The City of Sarasota made a landmark decision to not only restore the Bobby Jones Golf Club – a beloved local landmark with historical significance – but also to conserve the land it sits on as green space in a conservation easement, in perpetuity,” reads the golf club’s About page. The renovated golf club will also include a clubhouse and restaurant.
Troon, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based golf course management company appears to be involved in the update, as What Now recently found plan review paperwork submitted by Troon Beverages, Inc. for Bobby Jones Golf Club. Founded by Dana Garmany, Troon is an industry leader in golf course and private club management.
“We provide services to 825+ locations while also managing various amenities, such as racquet sports, aquatics, fitness, food & beverage, lodging and more,” reads the Troon website “We have grown our company by listening to and understanding the specific opportunities and challenges of our clients, then customizing our approach to achieve success together.”
What Now reached out to a representative of Troon on Friday to inquire about Bobby Jones Golf Club’s reopening, as well as the details on the club’s food and beverage program. The representative declined to comment at this time.
