A place “where style and grace have an attitude,” C.W.’s Gin Joint has been a popular haunt for gin drinks and other cocktails for seven years, although its aesthetic takes one a little further back than that.

“Admittedly, CW’s Gin Joint is a throwback to a time when fine spirits were savored in a casual atmosphere that exuded style and gentility, without pretentiousness,” says the C.W.’s Gin Joint website. “Where notable and obscure liquors added a warmth and refinement to any conversation. You’ll find that our revival of that urbanity mirrors that of our preserved and restored urban space in downtown Tampa. And that’s just the way CW wants it. CW, meaning Carolyn Wilson, our proprietor and designer.”

Now, Wilson is preparing to open a sister concept to C.W.’s Gin Joint, C.W.’s on Three, opening three floors up from C.W.’s Gin Joint, says recent coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa.

“Guests can get a first look at the new space on New Year’s Eve when it hosts a ticketed New Years Eve after party on Tuesday, Dec. 31,” the coverage says.

What Now reached out to Carolyn Wilson on Tuesday to inquire about the new concept and its imminent launch. Here, there was a bit of a cold shower: Wilson told What Now in a text message that the new venue is still a work in progress and has yet to hire its chef.

In other words, make sure to get a ticket for New Year’s, because it may be a bit longer before C.W.’s on Three opens for real.
