Cafe Luna, the Tampa-based cafe which enjoins guests to “grab life by the fork” is preparing to open its second location. The new home of Cafe Luna, called Cafe Luna On Kennedy, will be at 5201 West Kennedy Blvd, suite 105.

“Known for its welcoming atmosphere and comforting Latin American flavors, Café Luna continues its mission of creating a space where every guest feels like part of the family,” says a press release shared with What Now.

“The menu is going to be very similar, leaning towards Latin-American style, Colombian, Puerto-Rican, Chilean,” Santiago, who acquired the cafe from its previous owner, told What Now on Friday. Santiago is opening the new location together with partner Alexander.

The menu will feature grab-and-go and made-to-order items. Think Cuban and other sandwiches, think ropa vieja, think chicken curry (“One of the recipes I got from the previous owner,” says Santiago) and chicken fried rice.

The new Cafe Luna will open inside an office building just across from Westshore Mall, where it will feature seating for 20-30 people.

“Café Luna is more than a café for us,” says Santiago. “It’s a place where people can relax, share good food, and feel cared for, just like we did growing up around our family tables.”

“Pronto abriremos nueva sede ‘On Kennedy’,” says the Cafe Luna Instagram page. Follow @cafeluna813 to keep up with the opening.
