A new French bakery and cafe opened recently in Largo’s Largo Village Shopping Center, offering what I Love the Burg describes as “the kind of buttery, flaky, gently life-changing baked goods that could make a grown adult consider abandoning all responsibilities for a quiet life spent eating croissants.”

But, as it happens, this is only part of what Chez Victor has in store for the area. A second location is currently in the works for St. Pete Beach, opening at 5050 Gulf Blvd, next to Gulf Gate Resort and The Gulf Beach Resort.

“Chez Victor is arriving in St. Pete Beach, bringing the authentic taste of France to the shoreline,” says a post on the St. Pete Beach location’s Facebook page. “Known for its artisanal French pastries, fresh-baked breads, savory galettes, and seasonal specialties, Chez Victor combines traditional French craftsmanship with a warm, neighborhood-style atmosphere.”

What Now confirmed the news with Lionel Belda, one of Chez Victor’s owners, on Thursday. Belda declined to comment on the opening right away, but we’re awaiting more info soon.

Opening in the Gulf Boulevard location, Chez Victor St. Pete Beach will join a food and drinking community that includes restaurants like Crabby’s Bill’s, Malio’s Beach House, and 1200 Chophouse.

“After establishing a loyal following in Clearwater/Largo, Chez Victor is now extending its passion for French bakery and café culture directly to the beach,” the post continues. “Guests can expect buttery croissants, rustic baguettes, handmade quiches, gluten-free options, and a curated selection of French coffees and treats, all prepared fresh daily. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, picking up pastries for the office, or enjoying a relaxed moment by the ocean, Chez Victor brings a bit of France to St. Pete Beach… one croissant at a time.”

You can keep up with the opening by following Chez Victor St. Pete Beach on Facebook.
