South Carolina-based fast-food chain Cook Out is preparing to make its debut in the Tampa Bay market, says recent WFLA coverage.

The coverage cites Hillsborough County property records showing that Cook Out has purchased two sites, one in Temple Terrace (at 5501 East Fowler Avenue) and the other in Carrollwood (at 16215 North Dale Mabry Highway). Both sites were formerly occupied by Boston Market locations.

Cook Out’s broad menu offers a little of everything. There are Char-Grilled Hamburgers, barbecue choices served on a plate or in a sandwich, Char-Grilled Chicken Breast choices, and an assortment of other fast-food favorites, whether you’re in the mood for chicken nuggets, a hot dog, hush puppies, or a chicken quesadilla.

“The popular 35-year-old chain has over 300 locations mostly in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Mississippi,” says coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa. “The two new Tampa outposts will be among Cook Out’s first locations in Florida. Last year, the company announced plans to open spots in Tallahassee and Pensacola areas.”

What Now reached out on Tuesday to Cook Out CEO Jeremy Reaves to inquire about plans for the two locations. Reaves declined to make any immediate comment on the matter.
