Crisp Waffle Company, the popular Sarasota all-day waffle cafe, is preparing to open a new location in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District, at 2414 Central Avenue. It’s expected to open there this September, according to recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.

“What is a Liege Waffle?” asks the Crisp Waffle Company’s website. “Made from dough, which is made fresh each day at our locations. The Belgian Pearl Sugar is caramelized in clusters. You will find that these are the best waffles you will ever taste.”

Favorites from the menu include Strawberry Extreme (Fresh Strawberries with Whipped Cream, Nutella or Belgian Chocolate), Let’s Go Bananas (Bananas, Whipped Cream along with Speculoos Caramel or Nutella topping), and the Liege Waffle with Ice Cream. On the savory side, Crisp Waffle Company offers Chicken & Waffles and the Monte Cristo on the Beach Sandwich (Liege Waffle with Turkey, Blackforest Ham, melted cheese and a Berry jam).

“This is our passion, and we cannot wait to meet everyone in the St. Pete community!” owner Todi Garay told St. Pete Rising.

What Now reached out to Garay on Tuesday to inquire further about Crisp Waffle Company’s first St. Pete location. Garay was not immediately available for comment.
