Along the Hillsborough River, near the University of Tampa, a new cafe offering breakfast, lunch, and sweets drawn from Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine is starting to take shape. Called Dip and Happy, the new restaurant will open at 102 W Tyler Street, Suite 160.

“We’re a cafe, but we’re more than a cafe,” co-owner Nate Attiyyeh told What Now on Thursday, who is launching Dip and Happy in partnership with Haytham Dwaik. “So we offer breakfast items, waffles, Middle Eastern and Italian breakfast—basically it’s my whole experience between Italy and the Middle East.”

It’s a menu “with some culture in it,” Attiyyeh says: that means soups, sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, milkshakes—you name it.

“We’ll have outside inside seating, with a capacity of about sixty-five to seventy-five. A nice countertop, tables, and booths—great places for students to do homework.”

Opening at Tyler Street and Ashley Drive, this is only Dip and Happy’s first location. Attiyyeh says future locations are already in the works, but we’ll have to wait on those details.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more about Dip & Happy, and keep up with news by following @dipandhappy on Instagram.
