News broke in publications like ThatsSoTampa.com (and many others) last summer that burger chain Fatburger is planning to expand into Tampa after signing a four-store franchise deal with Whole Factor Inc. Some or all of the locations will be combined Fatburger + Buffalo’s Express locations.

A plan review was submitted recently for the first of these locations, indicating that Fatburger will open a new store in Riverview, at 9950 Upper Alafia Ct. What Now confirmed the news with Whole Factor Inc. Partner Ravneet Singh on Monday. Singh was not immediately available to comment further on the news.

“The last great hamburger stand,” Fatburger offers a variety of burger-shop sandwiches. Its original burger is best experienced with “The Works” (lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard, pickles, and relish), although other add-ons are on offer, including fried egg, chilli, and bacon. Classic Sandwiches include an Impossible Burger, a Turkey Burger, the Chicken Sandwich, and the 1000 Island Burger. The menu also features milkshakes in flavors like Oreo Cookies & Ice Cream, Maui Banana, and Vanilla.

The 9950 Upper Alafia Ct. location is part of the Shoppes at Alafia, a shopping center still under development, with almost 50,000 square feet of retail space. It currently houses business like franchise marijuana and CBD dispensary Trulieve and a Papa John’s.

Stay tuned for updates as more of Fatburger’s upcoming Tampa locations are revealed.
