Saladworks and Frutta Bowls, two brands that are part of the WOWorks brand family, are joining forces to open three locations in the Tampa Bay area over the next few years. The first of these dual-branded locations will open at 9830 Upper Alafia Court in Riverview in March 2026, franchise owner Haifa El-Taher told What Now on Wednesday.
El-Taher told What Now a bit about her story with the Saladworks and Frutta Bowls brands.
“I lived in the Northeast,” El-Taher said, “where the first Saladworks was, in New Jersey. It’s been in business a long time, and when I moved to the Tampa Area, I noticed there was nothing like it around here. There’s a Saladworks & Frutta Bowls in Lakewood Ranch, but that’s almost 35 minutes away. There was nothing in the Riverview area, so we decided to go for it.”
Saladworks, which promises a “Next Level Fresh” menu, offers a range of Signature Salads, Soups, Wraps, and Melts like the Turkey Cheddar & Bacon sandwich (Roasted Turkey, Crumbled Bacon, Shredded Cheddar, and Thousand Island melted on Rustic White Bread) and the Chicken Pesto sandwich (Grilled Chicken, Shredded Mozzarella and Cheddar, Tomatoes, and Pesto melted on Rustic White Bread).
That pairs nicely with what Frutta Bowls has on offer: namely, the ever-popular acai bowl and smoothie combination. Its bowls—which come with a choice of base: acai, pitaya, greens, coconut, warm oatmeal, or Greek yogurt—include the classic Frutta (Choose your base, granola, strawberry, pineapple, kiwi, Nutella, peanut butter, honey, coconut flakes) and the Muscle Up (Choose your base, granola, chocolate whey protein powder, banana, peanut butter).
Having purchased Tampa territory, El-Taher says the plan is launch in Riverview in March 2026, with two more locations planned in the coming several years, on the strength of the franchise network’s excellent support.
“They’re very supportive, working with me every step of the way, referring us to the right people, from architects to general contractors,” El-Taher said. “My experience with the franchise has been great.”
