Sarasota’s University Town Center may soon be home to a new outpost of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. A recent Facebook post by Restaurants In Sarasota points to building permit paperwork that shows plans for a Fleming’s at the intersection of Cooper Creek Boulevard and University Parkway.

The steakhouse chain offers a dinner menu that opens with Starters like Sweet Chili Calamari, Seared Pork Belly, and a Chilled Seafood Tower. Its steaks include an 11-oz. Main Filet Mignon and a 16-oz. USDA Prime Dry-Aged Ribeye. There are also plenty of seafood choices, like Seared Scallops with miso butter, shitake, scallions, and ginger salsa verde or Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass.

For dessert: New York Cheesecake, Crème Brûlée, or the brand’s Signature Olive Oil Cake; to drink: a variety of hand-crafted cocktails like the California Jam Jar (Ketel One vodka, fresh basil, ripe strawberry & citrus with savory hints on the nose) or the Espresso Martini.

A representative of Fleming’s declined to comment on the news on Wednesday, saying only that more information is likely to be available in the coming months.
