A new steakhouse is in the works in Ybor City, on East Seventh Avenue between North 16th and 17th Streets. It’s called Tommy’s Chophouse, and its website declares it to be ‘Coming Soon!!” to 1622 Seventh Ave.

Promising to be “Tampa’s Premier Steakhouse,” “Locally Sourced & Crafted with Love,” Tommy’s Chophouse is a new concept from the South Carolina-based Fudi Group.

“Tampa’s premier steakhouse and event venue located on historic Seventh Avenue in Ybor City,” the website says. “The ‘second’ steakhouse in the Fudi group portfolio, following 12 year old, award winning sister store Burwell’s Stone Fire Grill in Charleston SC. Tommy’s Chophouse while approachable in setting, offers the finest steaks and chops money can buy, fresh seafood, a well curated wine list, and classic cocktails at the massive bar.”

In the Tampa market, Fudi Group’s best-known concept is the West Ybor Barterhouse, founded in 2018. It’s located at 1811 N 15th St, Suite A.

What Now reached out to owner Ken Emery on Wednesday to ask about plans for Tommy’s Chophouse. Emery was not immediately available for comment.
