This spring, a new golf-focused hangout is opening in Clearwater. Called Golf Social, it’s opening at 23250 US Hwy 19 N, and it will feature state-of-the-art golf simulator equipment, plus food and drink.

Actually, the word “hangout” may not quite do Golf Social justice. In a short interview with What Now this week, Ferdinand Haag, a partner in the project, described Golf Social as a place where the focus is on the passion for golf and the desire to improve at it.

“We’re golf nuts, and we live in Clearwater,” Haag said, explaining the inception of Golf Social. “We wanted to create a place for people who love golf and want to get better.”

To that end, Golf Social will feature state-of-the-art technologies like Trackman simulator bays and Puttview, an augmented-reality tool that creates “an unprecedented learning experience for yourself on any green in the world without the need for additional tools or gadgets.”

Golf Social’s amenities will be available on both a membership and an hourly basis. To complete this picture, Golf Social will also feature a food and beverage program, serving up bar-style eats, beer and wine.

As similar concepts have been picking up in the last few years, one clear differentiation for Golf Social, along with being locally owned and operated, is an approach Haag describes as “not cutting any corners.”

“A lot of these places get put in for $100k,” Haag said. “For us, it’s all state of the art. There’s going to be a huge wow factor.”

Can’t wait to see it!
