“You didn’t just want a burger… you hadda have THIS one,” says HaddaBurger, a brand-new burger joint opening in Temple Terrace, on its Facebook page. Opening at 8932 Bertha Palmer Blvd, HaddaBurger will focus on doing the classic cheeseburger the way it ought to be done.
“The concept is taking back the burger to what it should be,” co-owner Hassan Diab told What Now on Thursday. “And not what is right now. The truth is there are burgers spots everywhere, but most of them aren’t very good. When you get a really good burger, it just hits that craving and makes you want more.”
No frills is the name of the game. HaddaBurger’s is a smash burger not weighed down by lettuce, tomato or other onions. Rather, there’s bacon, jalapeno, and onion; and these ingredients aren’t piled on. They’re smashed right into the patty.
“It gives it that extra umph,” Diab says. “When you have jalapenos like that, you don’t get a ton of spice; you just get hint of the kick.”
The menu is all certified halal, and it’s not just burgers. There are four different milkshake flavors (all of which are still under wraps), and the promise of one very intimidating food challenge item. If you eat all of it, your meal is free, and you’re picture goes on the wall—we know that much. Diab says it’s still too early to reveal more, however.
Inside, expect a laid-back, minimalist vibe.
“It’s going to have a very common atmosphere, with black and orange-copper colors. Somewhere you can just come, sit, enjoy your meal, enjoy your drink/dessert, and relax.”
