Jaiho’s Indian Cafe, the Indian Buffet located inside the University Mall food court on Fowler Avenue, has closed, but it will be reborn later this summer in a brand-new form. Called Jaiho’s Biryani & Kebabs, this new restaurant will open at 3001 University Center Drive, Suite #300, in the Oasis Bay Suites.

“We’re just waiting on some things to clear up,” Venkata, one of the owners of Jaiho’s, told What Now on Monday. “But we’re looking at the first or second week of August for opening.”

And the menu?

“It’s going to be a fusion, a nice mix of Indian and Mediterranean food,” Venkata said.

For the moment, that’s all that can be revealed, as the menu is still under development. We’ll be keeping our eye out for more details on the menu, however.

The journey to this location has been a long one. One location was lost in a fire; the second operated for some time in the mall food court location. Now Jaiho’s is finding its permanent home.

“It’s been a long wait, but God has been faithful,” Venkata said. “We’re looking forward to opening.”
