A new restaurant featuring Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors is preparing to open in Sarasota. Called Janies Amman, the new restaurant will open soon at 1400 Dr Martin Luther King Way, Unit 107.

“Anas and Hameed, two passionate culinary craftsmen from Jordan, created Janies Amman as a celebration of their heritage and a love for community,” a representative told What Now in an email conversation on Thursday. “Growing up in the bustling streets of Amman, they carried the rich flavors of their homeland into every dish they serve.”

Hameed, co-owner of Janies Amman, told What Now that the menu will feature classics like pitas, combos served with rice and/or fries, and other favorite dishes like burgers and chicken wings. The restaurant will have interior seating for about 15 guests.

“With authentic, freshly made shawarma rotating on the rotisserie and grilled meats infused with traditional spices, Janies Amman is more than just a restaurant; it’s a home-away-from-home for everyone in Sarasota. The duo has a vision of providing a gathering space where cultures meet, united by the warmth of family and the joy of sharing a meal.”

Opening in retail center on Martin Luther King Way between Central Avenue and North Lemon Avenue, Janies Amman joins Domino’s Pizza.

“Jordan is a land of rich history and diverse cultures, known for its warm hospitality and vibrant flavors,” the representative said. “Its cuisine reflects a melting pot of influences, with dishes like shawarma, falafel, and creamy hummus at the forefront. Here at Janies Amman, we pride ourselves on using fresh, halal ingredients and traditional recipes to bring you an authentic taste of Jordan, all while welcoming every member of our diverse community.”
