A new cafe dubbed Jona Bells is set to open in the space formerly occupied by Lakeland Discount Beverage at 3135 Knights Station Rd later this winter, according to owner Dave Wilcox, provided permitting moves forward without a hitch. A permit was filed with the city on Dec 12, 2022.

“I’m thinking around middle of February,” Wilcox says of when the business might open, adding “We don’t know yet. We’re trying to go through the permit process and I don’t know how long that’s going to take. It’s just a guess.”

Nevertheless, when it does open, Jona Bells will be a specialty cafe, offering coffee, traditional tea, boba tea, acai bowls, and pastries.
