“…TONIGHT!” said a Facebook post by Sarasota music venue and bar/restaurant Joyland published on December 28. “Our FINAL night in this building. We are moving to a bigger building (it’s in the same plaza). So we are going out with a BANG.”

After its final night of service at 8341 Lockwood Ridge Road on December 28, Joyland is preparing to reopen in its new, upgraded space, which submitted plan review documents place at 8333 Lockwood Ridge Road, just a few doors down.

“We can’t wait to reopen in our brand new building,” says a post from the next day, which says the opening is only “weeks away.”

“Joyland Live provides a fantastic experience for live music in Sarasota and Bradenton, FL,” says a description on the bar’s website. “Enjoy live music every Friday and Saturday night, with monthly concerts featuring national music stars. Dance the night on our dance floor with the area’s top DJs. Get late night snacks from our kitchen. Have a blast at one of Sarasota – Bradenton’s favorite night clubs.”

On the food and drink side, Joyland features a full bar with liquor, beer, and wine, and a “kitchen serving pizza by the slice and other popular food and snacks.”

A representative of Joyland Sarasota was not available for comment this week on the reopening. We’re hoping to hear more soon about the new space and—of course—the food and drink menu that will be served there!
