Located near the intersection of Main Street and Lemon Avenue in Sarasota, the space formerly occupied by Kennedy Studios Graphics & Custom Framing will soon be home to a new Korean BBQ restaurant. K88 BBQ, a new concept from John Zhao and the team behind Yummy House China Bistro, will open at 1472 Main Street.

Restaurants in Sarasota first posted about the upcoming restaurant about a year and a half ago.

“The new K88 BBQ will be a Korean barbecue restaurant, but not a grill-your-own restaurant,” said the post.

The new restaurant is now preparing to open soon, although further details have yet to be released about the menu.

Opening in the Main Street location, K88 BBQ will join a food and drink community that includes restaurants like Duval’s Fresh Local Seafood, Brewster’s, and Patricks 1481.

What Now reached out to John Zhao on Friday to inquire about plans for the opening. Zhao was not immediately available for comment.
