Fans of Karma Juice Bar & Eatery, the healthy restaurant with locations in St. Pete and Clearwater, have reason to celebrate: the Karma brand is preparing to add a sister concept to the family. It’s called Karma Kitchen & Bakery, and it’s opening at 2955 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg, in the historic building that formerly housed the Craftsman House, says coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

“The juice bar’s owner, Josie Barber, longtime employee Ashley Stover and real estate investor Robert Roberts plan to open Karma Kitchen and Bakery in St. Pete this summer,” the coverage says, citing St. Pete Rising.

Meanwhile, coverage by the Tampa Bay Times tells us we can expect to find “a vegan and gluten-free bakery, mocktails, cocktails, Filipino-inspired small bites and more.”

The mocktail and cocktail program will feature lots of the fresh juices that have made the Karma brand a hit. There will also be coffee provided by Lucky Cup, a company owned by April Lupkey, daughter of Karma owner Josie Barber.

Work towards a summer opening includes both exterior and interior renovations to the building at 2955 Central Avenue, a process Robert Roberts is heading up.

“A kitchen will be built outside of the house and the freestanding carriage house on the property will be refashioned as the gluten-free bakery, Barber said,” says the Tampa Bay Times coverage. “A space upstairs that functions as an Airbnb is even getting a remake to match the restaurant’s decor.”
