A new cat cafe is preparing to open before the end of spring in Sarasota. Called Katy’s Cat Cafe, this new spot to relax, sip coffee, and hang out with kitties will open at 1490 Boulevard of the Arts, at the intersection with Lemon Avenue, according to submitted plan review documents.

“Welcome to Katy’s Cat Cafe, a unique community hub where you can sip organically sourced coffee, tea, and carefully curated mocktails,” says the cafe’s website. “Indulge in ice cream and pastries from local businesses. Snuggle with adoptable cats from local shelters while curling up with a good book or playing a board game with friends.”

A menu posted on the website shows coffee, milk tea, and mocktails like the Abyssinian (pineapple, guava, orange, banana), the British Shorthair (Blueberry, Vanilla, Lavender), and the Egyptian Mau (Guava, Pomegranate, Lemon, Agave).

What Now confirmed news of the opening with owner Marian Morcos on Wednesday. Morcos said the project is moving along, but it’s impossible to say with total certainty yet what the launch date will be.

“We’re in the renovation process, so I’m hoping to open by April 1,” Morcos said.
