Seminole Heights food hall Flocale has closed, and with it its King of the Coop and Westshore Pizza locations. This is the latest of several setbacks for King of the Coop and Westshore Pizza owner Joe Dodd, who recently told the Tampa Bay Business Journal, “I look at it as a new beginning.”

King of the Coop will see a rebound soon, however, as it will move from the now-defunct Flocale into Ybor City’s Cigar City Cider and Mead. The brand’s much-anticipated Westchase location is also still on the way, Dodd told the Journal.

That means there’s still plenty of the hot chicken restaurant’s chicken, hush puppies, and more in store for Tampa Bay. The current menu features Coop’s Favorites like Tacos, Jumbo Tenders, and Chicken & Waffles, along with Coop’s Wings and Penny’s Sandwiches, which include the Nashville Hot, the King Mac (with Mac N Cheese, house-made B+B pickles, shredded slaw on a toasted potato bread bun), and the Dirty Bird (with pimento cheese and King Sauce on a toasted potato bread bun).

What Now reached out to Joe Dodd on Tuesday to inquire about the two upcoming locations. Dodd was not immediately available for comment.
