With five locations in Ohio, Kitchen Social is preparing to launch its first chef-driven scratch kitchen outside its home state. Its destination? Florida! Kitchen Social will launch at 257 N Cattlemen Road in Sarasota, at University Town Center, in the space previously occupied by the Rusty Bucket.
Published earlier this year, coverage by Extend Reach Florida shared details about Kitchen Social’s first location in the South.
“One detail that stands out in the Sarasota plan: the open-air, streetside deck,” says the coverage. “It continues UTC’s growing run of indoor-outdoor patios—think of the way Rocco’s Tacos activates its corner with al-fresco energy—and should make Kitchen Social feel welcoming to passersby from the moment the lights go up. In short: more fresh air, more ‘I-have-to-check-that-place-out’ curb appeal.”
Kitchen Social’s menus have featured signature starters like Cheddar & Scallion Biscuits, Whipped Feta (Sweet + spicy peppers, honey, toasted ciabatta, black pepper), and Crispy Thai Shrimp (Radish, carrots, scallions, napa cabbage, cilantro vinaigrette). The eclectic selection of entrees include ranges from Blackened Shrimp Capellini and Fish & Chips to Chicken Katsu and Teriyaki Ribeye.
“Get social at this lively, chef-driven tavern serving scratch-made comfort food with a modern twist,” says a description on the UTC Sarasota website. “From shareable starters to chef specialties, every dish is crafted with care and served with a smile. Complement your meal with handcrafted cocktails made with premium spirits — because at Kitchen Social, good times are always on the menu.”
What Now reached out this week to co-founder Brian O’Malley to ask about plans for the Sarasota opening. O’Malley was not immediately available for comment.
Kitchen Social is working toward an opening in early 2026.
