Knoxville pizza favorite slices into Clearwater with a new location.
Elidio’s Pizza is set to open at 810 S. Missouri Ave., filling the spot once occupied by Marco’s Pizza.
The pizza joint offers pizza by the slice or whole pies, along with pasta dishes like baked ziti and spaghetti with meatballs. House specialties include strombolis, calzones—ham or spinach—and pepperoni pockets. Sides range from boneless and traditional wings to cheesy breads and fresh salads.
Elidio’s Pizza earned high marks from Barstool President Dave Portnoy in his One Bite Pizza Reviews series.
“I like it; it’s football pizza. The dough is super airy and light. I really like this pizza. I’m going 7.5, I almost went 7.6 but I think it’s really good and that’s not a Tennessee scale, that would be 7.5 in New York City,” Portnoy said in the YouTube video.
No opening date has been announced, but the shop lists its hours as 10:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
