Located at the intersection of 11th Street and Washington Boulevard in Sarasota, Plaza Sarasota will soon be home to a new restaurant. According to a recently submitted plan review, La Butaka will open in the plaza, at 1155 N Washington Blvd.
What Now spoke briefly with a representative of La Butaka on Tuesday. The representative said the restaurant is in its “very early stages,” with no date yet projected for an opening.
Asked about La Butaka’s menu, the representative said it would include snacks and appetizers. The representative then declined to comment further on the concept.
Apart from these details, La Butaka will remain a bit of a mystery for the time being.
Plaza Sarasota is home to a number of local businesses, including Le Margarita Barber Shop and Beauty Salon, Los Compadres market, and motorcycle repair shop Precision Cycle. On the other side of Washington Boulevard are several food and drink spots, including Bombón Mexican, Subway, and La Brisa Tacos y Mariscos.
