Oldsmar in early spring 2023 will be home to a Moroccan and Mediterranean-style quick-service restaurant. Husband-and-wife team Yassine Nachti and Sanae Elibrahimi are in the plan review process to open La Kazba Cafe in the former YoYo Sushi, at 300 State St E STE 110.

La Kazba Cafe could open in the third week of March, Nachti told What Now Tampa in a telephone conversation Tuesday. Nachti, a software engineer of 16 years, wanted to bring La Kazba Cafe to life to help wife Elibrahimi live out her dream of opening a restaurant.

“It’s been our dream for many, many years,” Nachti said. “I’ve always been supportive of the idea.”

La Kazba Cafe will be setup in “stations” with a quick service-style format. One station will offer non-alcoholic beverages; think specialty coffee, ice tea, and lemonade. Another station will showcase Mediterranean-style individual pizzas. There will also be Moroccan pastries, tapas-style dishes, and hot plates.

“For us, this isn’t just brewing coffee or slicing meat,” the duo writes on the La Kazba Cafe website. “This is an active life mission to bring our customers the most flavorful full-bodied beverages we can get our hands on. Serving the Tampa Bay area from Downtown Oldsmar, whether working remotely, or meeting someone for casual or business conversation, our guests are always welcome to come in to get a cup of freshly-brewed deliciousness and a juicy panini or charcuterie board and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.”

Nachti and Elibrahimi are Oldsmar transplants having relocated from Las Vegas. “We traded one type of heat for another,” Nachti laughed.
