A brand new ice cream shop concept is about to come to life in Lakeland, at 270 E Bay Street. Called Lakeland Treats & Trinkets, it will be vibey antique-filled haven for sweets and “one-of-a-kind items picked up along the way.”

“We’re extremely excited to get opened up,” Becky Richmond, owner of Lakeland Treats & Trinkets together with Ryan Richmond, told What Now on Friday. “We can’t wait to share our adventures with everyone.”

The menu will feature sweets from cuisines spread across the globe.

“Step into our ice cream parlor where you can enjoy waffelwiches, croissanwiches, salads, Grandma Shirley cookies, coffee, Italian ice blends and more, all inspired by our travels around the world,” says the ice cream shop’s website. “And we have trinkets! Our ever-changing trinkets are one-of-a-kind items picked up along the way. You are invited to browse for that ‘perfect thing’ for yourself or someone you love.”

The space will be furnished with antiques acquired in the area and throughout the state (“We’ve driven across Florida to get them,” Richmond said), and will also feature a constantly changing staged backdrop with imagery from locations all around the world. There’s also a large patio with rocking chairs.

“It’s unlike any other ice cream shop you’ve been to,” Richmond said.

And so the excitement builds! Get ready for something special coming soon to 270 E Bay Street in Lakeland.
