Founded in Atlanta in 1981 and now headquartered in Orlando as part of the Darden Restaurants family of brands, Longhorn Steakhouse is a restaurant “for steak lovers, by steak lovers” with household-name brand recognition. It has about 600 locations nationwide, and according to a recent plan review, the restaurant is at work on a new outpost in Bradenton, at 7185 FL-64

“If you’re here, you probably speak our language: steak,” says the Longhorn website. “Making our famous, expertly crafted steaks starts with picking quality cuts and ends where most good things do: on the grill. While some take shortcuts and cut corners, at Longhorn, we do things the right way because that is what great steak deserves.”

The menu at Bradenton’s current Longhorn Steakhouse location features appetizers like Parmesan Crusted Spinach Dip and Wild West Shrimp, moving on to Chicken, Seafood & More entrees like Grilled Lamb Chops, Cowboy Pork Chops, and the LH Burger (Our thick, juicy, half-pound burger is expertly grilled and topped with Applewood smoked bacon, our signature burger sauce, and your choice of cheese with lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles on a toasted potato bun.)

Longhorn’s Legendary Steaks include the Outlaw Ribeye (This big 20 oz. steak doesn’t follow the rules. Our premium, marbled cut of bone-in ribeye is coated with our smoky Char Seasoning and fire-grilled by our Grill Masters to bring out the flavor in every bite) and the Longhorn Porterhouse (Got the biggest steak in the game wearing our name! Our 22 oz. porterhouse combines a bone-in strip and a generous filet into one thick cut, expertly grilled over the fire to bring out the flavor).

What Now reached out to Darden Restaurant chief development officer Richard Renninger on Thursday to inquire about plans for a second Bradenton location. Renninger was not immediately available for comment.

  • Did anyone from Longhorn look at this spot before deciding? It doesn’t seem like it. This lot is way too small, add this to being next to Miller’s Ale Houses and it’s a dumb location. A fast food place can go in that slot easy, or a very small (too small) restaurant. With all the land around here, why pick a lousy location? Right across the street from this lot is a great size. IF they succeed are their customers supposed to remote park at the Miller’s? Goodness.
