Longstanding English pub Mad Dogs and Englishmen is preparing to take the bittersweet step of closing its doors at 4115 S MacDill Ave, where it has been active since 1991, and moving to a new home. Closing after business on Sunday, the pub will soon reopen at its new location, at 4918 S MacDill Ave, according to Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Mad Dogs and Englishmen was founded in 1991 by Wilton Morley and Colonel Rick Craig, and the CL Tampa Bay coverage adds that both partners are on board at the new location, even as the pub becomes part of the Oxford Commons Hospitality family of brands.

The Mad Dogs menu has featured Pub Favorites like Fish & Chips, Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers & Mash, and Chicken Tikka Masala, along with Main Courses like North Atlantic Salmon and Mushroom Leek Pie.

What Now reached out to Colonel Rick Craig on Thursday to ask about the details of the new menu. Craig declined to comment, and What Now is awaiting more details. CL Tampa Bay says to expect a revamped menu with a few important favorites (i.e. Fish & Chips) sticking around.
