Founded in 2011, Mission BBQ has grown quickly, reaching 142 locations (as of last year) in less than a decade and a half. As the brand continues growing, particularly on the East Coast and in the Midwest, it’s preparing to launch another Florida location in the Greater Tampa Bay region. According to plan review paperwork submitted by Mission BBQ Brooksville FL LLC, it’s preparing to open at 7268 Brookridge Central Blvd. in Brooksville.

Founded by Bill Krause and Steve Newton, the brand has been expanding particularly quickly since 2017.

Mission’s menus feature proteins like Brisket, Pulled Pork, Turkey, Pulled Chicken, and Sausage. These are also available as sandwiches and can be made into Combos with sides like Maggie’s Mac-N-Cheese, Baked Beans, Cold Slaw, and Fresh Cut Fries.

“Every day we strive to serve you authentic BBQ made from the freshest, most delectable ingredients, and serve it to you in a patriotic dining room filled with tributes to those who’ve made Our Country great, given to us by the people who earned them,” reads the Our Story page on the Mission BBQ website. “Stop by at lunchtime, and you might catch us during our daily salute to the Stars and Stripes.”

What Now reached out to Steve Newton on Wednesday to ask about the opening timeline for the brand’s Brooksville location. Newton was not immediately available for comment.
