Founded by Mike Fernandez, Ben Gilbert, and Jeff Kennedy, Moe’s Original BBQ is a “Southern Soul Food Revival.” With locations in twelve states—including locations in Destin and Panama City Beach—the brand is working to build out its footprint in the Sunshine State. And so it’s making its debut in the Tampa Bay market, with a new location opening in Seminole, at 10801 Starkey Road, Unit 3. (Google Maps places this location in Largo.)
That means you’ll soon be able to try the brand’s take on classic Alabama-style barbecue much closer to home.
“Different from other types of BBQ around the country, Alabama-Style has distinctive qualities when it comes to meat choice and preparation, cooking techniques, sauces, and more,” explains the Moe’s Original BBQ website.
What Now reached out on Monday to franchisee Brian Fairhurst to ask about plans for the launch. Fairhurst was not immediately available for comment.
The location is part of Bardmoor Promenade, the retail center on the southeast corner of Starkey Road and Bryan Dairy Road. It’s home to restaurants like Applebee’s Grill + Bar, Clubhouse Restaurant, and Panera Bread. Moe’s Original BBQ will be a welcome addition!
“A trip to Moe’s Original BBQ means a chance to slow down, make connections and enjoy our quality recipes passed down for generations,” says the Moe’s website’s Our Story page. When you dine at Moe’s, you’re always the guest. The Moe’s Original team takes pride in ensuring that their customers enjoy themselves as much as their meal. Expect to be served top notch BBQ, soulful sides and a beer or bushwacker complemented by a smile and thank you.”
