Founded by Jeff and Jenny Howe, Nah Dogs has made a name for itself as “St. Pete’s only 100% Vegan Hot Dog Cart.” And now, it’s building on that success: according to submitted plan review documents, the vegan hot dog restaurant is preparing to move into its first brick-and-mortar home at 18 22nd St S in St. Petersburg.
“The Howes first launched Nah Dogs back in 2019, debuting the cart as a simple hot dog stand, with a 100% vegan menu and dozens of topping combinations,” says coverage by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay published this week. “Six years later, the idea clearly stuck. The street dogs won Best Food Pop-Up in Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay readers’ poll two years in a row, including the most recent 2025 Food & Drink edition. The shop also made PETA’s list for the nation’s top vegan hot dogs.”
The new was announced in an Instagram post published on March 11 by Nah Dogs.
“Your new favorite hotdog spot open summer ’26!” the post said. “Let’s party!”
The news has been well received, to say the least! As one characteristic all-caps comment put it, “AHHH BEST NEWS EVER!! SO EXCITING YOU GUYS!!!”
What Now reached out to Jenny Howe on Wednesday to ask about plans for Nah Dogs’s first restaurant. Howe was not immediately available to comment on the news.
