The retail and restaurant community east of the intersection of Stickney Point Road and South Tamiami Trail looks to be getting a brand-new breakfast place. Plan review paperwork submitted by Sunnysyde Up LLC shows a restaurant called Sunnysyde Up opening at 2661 Mall Drive, near the intersection with Superior Avenue.

The intersection is part of a community that offers a wide variety of restaurant choices, including Screaming Goat Taqueria, Tony’s Chicago Beef Company, Heidi’s Schnitzel Kitchen, and Shaner’s Pizza.

Behind Sunnysyde Up LLC is owner Barbara Perigo. What Now reached out to Perigo on Friday to inquire about Sunnysyde Up’s opening. Perigo declined to comment on the matter.

This leaves us guessing on the restaurant’s menu for the moment, but the name leads us to expect some breakfast and brunch classics.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
