With more than 150 IHOP locations in Florida and another 3 in Southern Georgia, multi-unit franchisee Sunshine Restaurant Partners looks to be expanding its pancake footprint in the Greater Tampa Bay area with a new location planned for Lakeland. The company submitted plan review paperwork for an IHOP location at 5820 Hwy 98 S.

With well over 1,600 locations, IHOP is a pancake behemoth, boasting outposts in all fifty states, two U.S. territories, and at least a dozen countries outside the U.S.

“Many of our restaurants offer meeting space, some can be made completely private,” says Sunshine restaurant Partners’ IHOP website. “It is the perfect place to host your next meeting, birthday party, book club, or other special event. In every restaurant we offer you outstanding service, friendly environment, and great food.”

What Now reached out on Tuesday to Sunshine Restaurant Partners CFO John Salvaggio to inquire about plans for a new IHOP in Lakeland. Salvaggio was not immediately available for comment.
