Located in Parkway Collections, a Sarasota shopping center located on the southeast corner of North Lockwood Ridge Road and University Parkway, the space once occupied by The Public House Tap and Grill will soon be home to a new Mexican restaurant. According to a recent Facebook post by Restaurants in Sarasota, the new restaurant is expected to open later this year.

This brand new concept, whose name has yet to be announced, comes from chef Gino Calleja, who owns and operates Kolucan Mexican Bar and Grill and, until its recent sale, Reyna’s Taqueria.

What Now reached out to Calleja on Tuesday to inquire about plans for the opening. Calleja declined to discuss the project at this time.

The Restaurants in Sarasota coverage describes this restaurant as having a “more traditional style,” and says its “design plans are still being ironed out.”

What Now is awaiting more information on the new restaurant, so stay tuned. And in the meantime check out Kolucan and follow @kolucansrq on Instagram.
