A new snack bar is preparing to open in Fort Meade, on the corner of Southwest Martin Luther King Jr. Street (Fourth Street) and South Seminole Avenue. Permit paperwork submitted recently by Better Living Solutions Enterprises LLC shows Dugout opening at 34 SW Martin Luther King Jr. St.

What Now confirmed news of the opening with co-owner Tamala Camp on Friday. Camp said Dugout is working to provide a family-friendly hangout in the space, which will seat up to 54 guests.

“There are a lot of places where people drink and smoke, and this is not that,” said Camp. “It’s going to be for families, a clean environment, with big-screen TVs to watch the game.”

Camp says Dugout will offer plenty of nonalcoholic beverages, along with prepackaged foods like sandwiches and chips.

Dugout doesn’t have an established opening date yet, but Camp says it’s working to have its doors open soon.
