“Olive Garden coming to Parrish/Ellenton,” began a post published on LinkedIn by CARE-Calhoun & Associates Real Estate about two years ago. “With the rapid growth of the area this is a nice addition to the already crowded restaurants.”
Not much has been heard since about the upcoming Olive Garden location, which will open by the Premium Outlet Mall in Ellenton. The popular Italian restaurant chain, which has more than 900 locations around the country, is particularly popular in Florida. In the upcoming location, it will join a community of other household-name restaurants, like Ruby Tuesday and Chili’s Grill & Bar.
Two years after that original post, there are signs that the project is going forward. This week, What Now came across plan review documents submitted by Olive Garden Holdings, LLC that show the new Olive Garden opening at 5710 20th Street E.
Olive Garden has become a kind of comfort food in its own right. The menu features Classic Entrées like Chicken Alfredo, Calabrian Steak & Shrimp Bucatini, Chicken Parmigiana, and Ravioli Carbonara. And it’s all served up alongside appetizers like Stuffed Ziti Fritta, Calamari, Meatballs Parmigiana, and Spinach-Artichoke Dip.
“At Olive Garden, we know that life is better together and everyone is happiest when they’re with family,” says the Olive Garden website’s About Us page. “From never ending servings of our freshly baked breadsticks and iconic garden salad, to our homemade soups and sauces, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
