Described as a “passion project of three long time friends,” St. Pete-born poke chain Pacific Counter is continuing to expand in the Greater Tampa Bay market. The brand recently opened a new location in Sarasota’s The Landings Shopping Center, and it now has its sights set on Apollo Beach, where a new Pacific Counter will open at 6110 Paseo Al Mar Blvd.

“Pacific Counter is a ridiculously fresh fusion of chef-inspired cuisines & cultures, serving up a mainland mix of coastal classics in the form of Sushi Bowls & Burritos,” says the Pacific Counter website’s About page. “’Pole-to-Bowl,’ ‘Hook-to-hand,’ or ‘Farm-to-Face,’ we invite you to craft your own cuisine in an environment that inspires healthy eating, drinking, thinking, and being.”

The brand’s build-your-own menu allows guests to choose to Bowl It or Roll It, selecting a base (sushi rice, brown rice, noodles, mixed greens); picking from proteins like tuna, salmon, tofu, calamari, and more; adding toppings and mix-ins like garlic crisps, pickled ginger, scallions, and alfalfa sprouts; and finally, topping it all off with sauces like Citrus Ponzu, Chili Aoili, or Sesame Waina.

What Now reached out to Pacific Counter Co-Founder and CEO Tanner Loebel on Thursday to ask about the Apollo Beach location’s opening timeline. Loebel was not immediately available for comment.
