A new Pete’s Bagels outpost is currently under construction next to Ybor City’s recently built 4th and Angel Dog Park, located at 1802 E 4th Ave, with plans to open later this spring, according to a recent announcement on the company’s Instagram account.

A representative of Pete’s Bagels did not immediately return a request for comment.

Pete’s Bagels – which operates in conjunction with Pete’s General – is a St. Pete mainstay owned by Steven Peterman, lending the brand its name on multiple levels.

It was founded in April 2019 “with a dream to bring delicious, hand rolled, small batch bagels to the city we love and to showcase local products and speciality items,” according to the official website

While Pete’s Bagels’ flagship location features signature bagel sandwich offerings – including the vegetarian-friendly Sunny Pete, the classic Original Pete, and the avocado toast-inspired Millennial Pete, all of which are served on a freshly made bagel ranging from Everything to Plain and Garlic & Onion to Sesame – the Ybor City’s full-kitchen will see the menu expanded to salads, beer, and wine as well.

“The idea is to create a community-focused space where you can grab your morning coffee, eat lunch, and meet your friends for happy hour,” the Instagram announcement reads. “We will have lots of community-focused events as well,” adding, “The best part is, we are overlooking a brand new dog park!”
