“It all started with a sketch on napkin”: launched back in 2010, Piada Italian Street Food has quickly grown to encompass more than 55 locations in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Now, the brand appears to have plan for Florida: a plan review submitted by Piada South Tampa, LLC shows a Piada Italian Street Food location opening at 402 S Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.
The menu features Hand-Rolled Piadas like the Avocado Piada (Pancetta (bacon), arugula, mozzarella, fresh avocado, sweet corn & tomato, basil aioli) and the Chef’s Favorite Piada (spicy diavolo sauce, romaine, mozzarella, sweet peppers, spicy ranch). There are also selections of Greens & Grains (salads) and Tossed Pastas like Carbonara Pasta and Basil Pesto Pasta.
But the centerpiece of the menu is its Create-Your-Own selection, allowing you too choose from a variety of proteins, sauces, and toppings to assemble your own piada, salad, or pasta.
“We are passionate about food and about sharing it with others,” says the Piada website. “We believe in eating well even when we need to eat fast. Great food starts with a few simple, fresh ingredients and someone who knows how to bring the best flavors to life. Every Piada is run by a chef—not a manager—who will personally greet you as you step up to the stone.”
What Now reached out on Wednesday to Piada Group co-CEO Lance Juhas to inquire about plans for a Tampa Piada location. Juhas was not immediately available for comment.
