According to a plan review recently filed with the city of Sarasota, Ruth’s Chris Steak House – a brand that needs no introduction – will be opening its second location in Center Point at 6508 University Parkway sometime next year.
“Ruth’s Chris’ plans remain to open in 2023, and is looking forward to welcoming Sarasota guests in the future,” a company spokesperson tells What Now Tampa.
The new location will be part of a larger shopping center developed by Casto, which includes an Owen’s Fish Camp as well as Tampa-based Italian restaurant, Olivia, according to Sarasota Magazine.
The renowned steak house was founded in New Orleans in 1965 by Ruth Fertel, at “a time when most women couldn’t even apply for a bankcard without their husband’s signature.” Nevertheless, “As a single mom with two boys, Ruth taught herself the restaurant business, endured countless challenges and, in the process, redefined hospitality,” according to the company’s official website.
Today, the brand boasts more than 150 restaurants across the world, roughly 15 of which are in Florida, including three in the greater Tampa region.
