“Progress is taking shape at Palmera Wellen Park Florida,” said a Facebook post published by Sarasota – David Weekely Homes back in January. “We’re excited to share a birds-eye look at the clubhouse and resort-style amenities currently under construction.”

Neal Communities celebrated the grand opening of its sales center and two model homes at Palmera at Wellen Park, its neighborhood-in-progress, back in July. Now, it’s continuing the process of development. The David Weekely Homes post lists the following amenities in store:

  • Resort-style pools with cabanas, an adult lap pool & family splash pad
  • Clubhouse with Grill Pub
  • Fitness center & spa
  • Kids playground
  • Pickleball courts & sports courts, plus a golf simulator
  • Gathering lawn, fireside seating & nature trail
  • On-site dining and year-round lifestyle programming

Details may be starting to emerge on the food service side. This week, What Now came across plan review paperwork for a restaurant project called Hull Bar. The paperwork, submitted by Palmera at Wellen Park Owners Association, Inc., shows Hull Bar opening at 18265 Foxtail Loop. This month, Palmera at Wellen Park Owners Association, Inc. registered the name “Hull Bar.”

Hull Bar therefore could be the “Grill Pub” in question, or it could be another bar concept opening at Palmera at Wellen Park. What Now reached out on Friday to Tamela Machino, General Manager of Palmera of Wellen Park, to ask about plans for the project. Machino was not immediately available for comment.
