Tampa Bay Times ‘Best of the Best’” winner in 2020 and 2021, Shiso Crispy is expanding in the Tampa Bay area—and beyond, as the brand launches franchising, owner Ronicca Whaley told What Now in a brief phone call on Monday.

At home, a new outpost of the gyoza brand is opening in St. Pete’s Edge District, (at 1431 Central Ave. N, according to a recently submitted plan review). Whaley says it is close to an opening but no official date has been announced yet, and that another new restaurant is opening in St. Pete as well.

What Now is awaiting more information Shiso Crispy’s St. Pete goings-on, so be sure to check back soon for an update.

“We simply don’t cut corners when it comes to quality,” says the Shiso Crispy website. “Our team strives to use local, organic ingredients to hand-craft the gyozas, right down to the dough. This is a must for dumpling connoisseurs across Tampa, FL. From all-natural chicken drenched in garlic butter to ground pork sprinkled with ginger and chives to 8-hour braised short-rib, you’ll want to try every item on the menu. Oh, and Rangoon lobster tail, anyone?”
