Shore, a brand combining a restaurant concept with lifestyle and retail, was forced to close its St. Armands location in Sarasota in the wake of 2024’s devastating hurricane season. But if you’ve been missing Shore Restaurant, there’s good news: a new, reimagined Shore St. Armands is currently in the works.
As Observer reported in December, the reimagined Shore location would be part of a proposed three-story mixed-use development that also includes residential units “described by Shore as a luxury residential space that could evolve into a boutique hotel to create the first ‘fully immersive Shore lifestyle destination.’”
Longboat Key News described plans spearheaded by Shore co-founder Tom Leonard to “redevelop two flood-damaged commercial properties at 24 and 28 N Boulevard of the Presidents. The proposed ‘Shore flagship’ would combine a restaurant, café, and retail store on the lower levels, with a controversial new third floor designated for residential units or a boutique hotel.”
The menu at Shore’s Longboat Key location features “Off Shore” entrées like Shrimp & Scallops with lemon risotto, sauteed spinach, lemon beurre blanc, and tomato confit, and Pan-Seared Local Snapper with wilted spinach, arancini cake, caponata, and citrus butter. “On Shore” dishes include the Reserve 8-oz. Filet Mignon, Pasta Al Fresco, and the Shore Burger, which is “grass-fed, house-ground daily,” with Tillamook cheddar, bacon jam, and truffle fries.
What Now reached out to co-founder Susan Leonard this week to ask about plans for the revitalized Shore Restaurant in St. Armands. Leonard was not immediately available for comment on the news.
